Friday Night Tykes is Intense for No Reason

Question, what were you guys doing when you were like 8 or 9? I was watching cartoons and starting to get into comics. Some kids, like my friends and brothers were outside playing basketball or football. However, other kids took it a step further and got involved in clubs or sports teams. Side note I was in a chess club when I was in 6th grade and I’m open to any challenges to hit me up for an L. Anyways, it’s pretty common to see kids on some kind of football team, especially in America. When you think about America what’s the first state that comes to mind? That’s right Texas. Friday Night Tykes follows the world of a youth football league. The show follows parents, players, and coaches of different teams as they try to compete for a championship.

Friday Night Tykes is unintentionally funny because of how seriously it takes itself. Keep in mind that this is little league football we’re talking about. These coaches are so fired up and overly passionate to the point where it’s weird. The coaches make the kids run drills until the kids throw up. They openly curse and let them curse as a part of their drills. They instill problematic views into the players, bro. One of the coaches said “don’t cry, that's a women’s trait, this is a man's game.” You cannot convince me that not one of these coaches has never been to jail before. They cuss out the kids when they mess up the plays or goof around on the sidelines. Ya know, stuff that kids do.

The parents are merely props in this series. The show doesn’t care, why are we even talking about them? Anyways, the show portrays the teams like they’re colleges. Keep in mind we’re talking about little league football. People keep saying things like “I moved my son out of this organization because we want to be associated with champions.” You hear that a lot too, the word “organization.” No one ever says “team.” keep in mind we’re talking about little league football. Coaches take things to the extreme just because. You have some coaches spying on teams and looking for weaknesses in their plays. It looks like an FBI stakeout, they have binoculars and everything. Is it that serious, dude? Keep in mind we’re talking about little league football. Friday Night Tykes is clearly trying to make itself seem like it can hang with the big dawgs but like, bro its a bunch of kids...just stop. You can’t make these kids look “hard” or “cool” there’s no way.
